Je suis finalement de retour en ville après être allé passé une semaine à notre maison de campagne pour refaire à neuf la plomberie et mettre en route le potager. Notre espace de jardinage mesure environ 3000 pi. ca., sois amplement d'espace pour cultiver tous les légumes nécessaires pour notre famille. Nous y avons aussi planté une dizaine d'espèces de fleurs vivaces, certaines purement décoratives, d'autre avec certaines propriétés médicinales. Nous avons décidé d'appliquer la technique de jardinage Biointensive par lits surlevés et compagnionnage d'espèce. J'ai commandé le livre sur ce type de culture cet hiver, mais je viens d'en trouver une version web complète ICI, je vous le recommande fortement, cette technique est révolutionnaire.
Voici, par étapes, les images d'un travail qui aura demandé 3 jours de travail à deux personnes.

Et notre coin outils de jardin à l'intérieur.
Nous sommes très fier de ce beau travail et du bel environnement que cet espace nous procure. Dans les prochaines semaines je vais continuer de mettre des photos de la progression du jardin. Cette année, c'est un laboratoire pour nous. Nous ne savons pas encore ce que cette terre importée d'une carrière voisine donnera comme rendement. Mais si tout ce qui a été planté pousse, nous aurons des légumes non seulement pour toute la famille, mais aussi pour nos chers voisins qui sont si gentils et attentionnés pour nous. En effet, plusieurs d'entre eux se sont portés volontaires pour s'occuper des lieux pendant notre absence. Un bon voisinage, c'est une grande richesse pour le présent et le futur.

See, I have a formation in territory management and landscaping. So, when I jump on a project like this, I plan not only for a fruitfull garden but also for something that looks beautyfull in all phase of a project. This thinking goes in the shape of thing but also in choosing the right plants to get the final look I'm striving for.
Like choosing corn on the neighbor side so we get intimacy in our space. Or placing things so that when I look by the window, no plants gets hiden by others. This, couple with the companioning principle should give us beauty and plenty.
Good that you order the biointensive book, you will discover absolutely great thing in there.

This all sarted with a gravel parking lot. All the work was done by hand by two person.
Day one : delivery of 13 truckload of earth from a nearby pit
Day two, three and four : a friend levels the earth while I build 180 feet of 2 ft high stone wall.
Day four : earth tilling (only job done with a machine)
Day five : Pathways and raised bed shoveled
Day six and seven : bed softening and seeds planting
That's it, two guys and seven days to go from parking lot to 3000 sq.ft. (x 2 ft. thick) of biointensive gardening space.
Doing that made me realize that with time, patience, courage et effort, we can make anything AND make it beautifull.

Z - that's what is so great about your post - you took a gravel parking lot and have already made it beautiful - you are such an artist in the true-est sense of the word!!! Your garden looks like music sounds - and not just any music but your beautiful music!

Awesome garden Zenon. Very beautiful. I love the idea of having space for outdoor fires and a space to sit in the middle of the garden. Makes it nice to relax and enjoy the garden in the evenings after a long days work.
